Pink's Funhouse

Buying pinks new album Funhouse, I was eager to feed it into my hungry stereo. I have never bought one of her albums before & was pretty sure I was going to enjoy it. Unfortunately I was to be let down. I really didn’t dig it. I like two songs on the album & one of them is a bonus track.
Having recently split form my betrothed, “So What” definitely lends itself to my boy related frustrations, but I think I’d still like it regardless. It’s a catchy gal power tune that is honest & open without getting catty, a side that many of Hollywood’s babes cannot detach from. I like that her ex beau features in the clip & can relate to the themes within. I particularly love the scene in which she is surrounded by an all boy pillow fight, but is completely uninvolved as she can’t help checking her phone, aww, haven’t we all been there before ladies?
The bonus track I like is “This Is How It Goes Down”, featuring Travis McCoy (and who is he?). It is rather reminiscent of You Oughtta Know by Alanis Moriessette, and I am fond of dear old Alanis. A song about the new girl, that isn’t an “I wish you well” anthem? Yes I like.
I don’t think I will part with another $18.99 of my hard earned cash to help Ms Pink out with her career, she already has many loyal fans & she deserves them. It’s just not my cup of tea. I do like her spunk though & will continue being a fan of hers, just not so much in the music sense.
