I Killed the Prom Queen- Music for the Recently Deceased

May 22nd 2008 06:54
Music for the Recently Deceased the new album from Adelaide Metal/Hardcore band I Killed the Prom Queen is the best CD I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing all year. With new front man Edward Butcher these guys have developed a bigger better more complex sound. I do like their previous sound when Krafter was still on the scene, however when I saw them at Hardcore 2006 at the Gaelic Club, I was blown away by their performance & much prefer Ed’s style as a vocalist. He has a better range & his lyrics have an abstract edge about them. I’m also really impressed with the guitar work on this album. I absolutely love the guitar solos, which is funny because I usually tend to cringe through them, but these ones manage to make me do a 180. The whole album is so well arranged I don’t think there’s a single track or part to it I don’t like. If you don’t have this album go out & buy it now! I am left asking one question though… Ed, how do you manage to growl so low in jeans so god damn tight?

I've heard good things about this as well -- have not had a chance to check it out yet.

Woah, I nearly fell off my chair, I though this was a new Prom Queen album for a second. It's a real shame these guys broke up excellent band, Australia is far less hardcore without them. Parkway is still flying the flag though!

Butcher was great but Crafter just has an energy that ed didnt. even though he doesnt scream near as well, i rather listening to the sleepless nights album versions of the recently deceased tracks.
would probs make me wet myself with delight if they got back together for good.

@Noise Fanatic.... how could you australia has an amazing hardcore scene, most of the bands just aren't as internationally popular as pd and IKTPQ
